Footwear with Cosmopolitan Flair: Vincent Toddler and Children’s Shoes (Contest and Review)

Posted by Mamanista on Jan 15, 2008 | 270 Comments

Vincent Toddler Shoes SaraFinding a decent pair of shoes for your active toddler can be a challenge. Finding comfortable, fun, and fashionable pairs of snow boots, rain boots, sneakers, dress shoes, sandals, and sneakers for kids can be nearly impossible.

Vincent has all these styles for pre-walkers through young school-aged boys and girls (ages 6 months’ to 8 years’), all in one great children’s shoe store. From the land that brought us Greta Garbo, Ingmar Bergman, Bjorn Borg, and, of course, H&M, comes a line of children’s shoes with a hip and whimsical Scandinavian sensibility.

Like most great children’s brands, Vincent’s story begins with doting family or friends searching high and low at available options and thinking, “I can do better.” Swedish designers Patrick Österman and Thomas Elbaum were inspired by the birth of Thomas’ nephew, Vincent, and the desire to buy him a pair of functional, yet stylish shoes.

Vincent Toddler Shoes MartinaMy baby has a pair of the Martina, which she wore to a tree-trimming party, to much acclaim. When they arrived, I couldn’t separate baby from her new shoes; she kept holding them up, staring at them, and smiling. At just 15 months’ old, she insisted on putting them on right away and showing them off–so much for a love of shoes being a learned trait.

Kiddo, grandparents, and other assorted admirers love the fabulous bling, but I appreciate how comfortable and convenient they are. Gone are the stiff dress shoes of yore. Vincent makes soft, breathable, flexible-soled, sparkly and festive shoes that your child can party in all night. As the mom of hurricane diva, I also like the generous amount of velcro–almost the entire strap secures to itself, instead just a tiny strip on the side.

Cute girls’ dress shoes may not be a tough find, but Vincent also has great options for boys, as well as a range of rain boots, snow boots, sandals, and any type of footwear you might need for your little one.

Vincent’s online store is easy to shop, too: you can sort by size, occasion, gender, and even color. Vincent also has a great way of ensuring your child gets the right fit–because baby loves shoes, but hasn’t developed the patience for shoe shopping yet.

Inspired by global trends, Vincent shoes are at home gliding down the red carpet or runway. Celebrity moms Kate Winslet and Sadie Frost are fans of Vincent’s styles for kids. And Vincent shoes will look just as adorable as your child tromps through the snow, splashes in puddles, and explores his world.

We’ll be featuring toddler shoes this week and then publishing our guide to shoes for new walkers–so check back for more contests, reviews, and tips!

WANT IT: Visit Vincent’s new online US Store and check out the amazing winter sale–up to 50% off certain styles.

We went shoe shopping for Kiddo this past weekend, and boy, it was a disaster. We went to one of the biggest malls here and guess what – we found nothing that wasn’t ugly! Girl shoes – yes, plenty of pretty ones. But for boys – black black and more black! yuck! And don’t even get me started on the styles. Such hard and unyielding ones for those tender tiny feet? NO WAY!

I remembered reading about Vincent shoes somewhere and when I searched for it, I found this contest listed! Needless to say, I was overjoyed :)

Vincent is the best! although a bit expensive for my budget. So winning this will make all the difference. I loved most of their styles, but these caught my eye – Dennis in color red, Martin in white/orange and Max in red. They’re utterly lovely!

Dare to be different…I love the “face” indoor shoes. We don’t wear shoes in the house, and sometimes getting the kids to keep slippers on is a pain! Fun indoor shoes like these keep them from slipping in socks and keep their tootsies warm in the winter.

I am in love with the Loves!!!!! They are so cute. My favorite thing about these is that they cant scuff the toes up!!!!

  • Nicole said:

The martina’s are so cute! I love that they are girly, but not over the top. It is hard for my 5 year old daughter and I to find common ground on shoes. I want something cute and practical, she wants something pink and and sparklie….these fit both! LOVE THEM!!

  • Chas said:

I just adore the “Love” style! They are very girly, yet they still have the sole of a sneaker. My little girl likes to drag the front of her foot along the ground, and this usually scuffs the tip of her shoes, but the Love style has a rubber tip that would do away with scuffing! I love them!!
