Eco-Friendly Luxury Baby Clothing

Posted by Mamanista on Feb 21, 2008 | One Comment

I recently received a bamboo and organic cotton onesie ($22) from BabyBam Collection, a business that supports green charitable causes.

BabyBam was founded by a mom seeking “pure” clothing for her baby who had allergies and sensitive skin. She found that bamboo, which is one of the most eco-sustainable textiles available, is ideal for delicate skin because it is naturally hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial.

BabyBam was a hit with celebs at this year’s Sundance Film Fest. But I like the line for its (relatively) affordable prices, eco-friendly vibe and the soft luxurious feel of the fabric.

In addition to the onesie I received, BabyBam also sells an adorable pajama ($34) (pictured above) with their signature “Dream, Believe, Giggle” catch phrase, a hooded towel and washcloth set ($42), bath products and more.

I’ve never heard of organic baby clothes let alone clothes made from bamboo! Though it’s new to me it seems like a fairly good alternative to cotton and is environmentally responsible. I’ll start researching these types of clothes a bit more and determine if this will be the best course for me to tread.
