EarthLust Stainless Steel Water BottlesMy family uses eco-friendly and chic stainless steel water bottles to reduce landfill and our exposure to the chemicals in plastics.

EarthLust bottles are fantastically chic, manufactured from a slender, tapered custom mold and coated with non-toxic paints.  Each delicately rendered design evokes a love of, or a deeply respectful lust for, nature.  Some of the artwork was created by mom-owner and inventor, Allison.

And it is no surprise that with her deep affection for mother earth, Allison participates in 1% for the Planet.

The water bottles come with a screw top and a metal loop.  You can also select a safe plastic sports top for the 13 oz and 20 oz styles.  My toddler daughter has a 13 oz bottle ($16) with the sports top and uses it as her sippy cup when we go out.  The tops don’t leak when close, though they push closed very easily with little pressure.  However, my two year old has had no trouble figuring out how to open the spout when she wants a drink.

To make sure I stay hydrated, I carry the “parsley” 20 oz design ($18)–a stylish vegetal silhouette against a silvery background. The compact bottle usually fits well in my mommy bag and the loop conveniently and securely snaps onto the outside of my purse if I’m carrying extra baby gear and toddler snacks.

    I really like the 13 oz size AND the 1 liter size with the tree on it. Very serene.

    I also like this because the one i have for my little one has a lid that she focuses more on than the water inside. it is one of the flip lids. I like that this can actually come off and not be so distracting to her!

    My fave design is the 20 ounce white bottle with flowers, cute and chic. I need a stainless bottle so bad, I just found out that my aluminum bottle is coated with an epoxy formula that isn’t healthy. But I spen $20 on it and I can’t just shell out money for another one right now.

    I’m glad these stainless steel bottles are coming out. I’ve had a hard time finding them in stores.. after hearing about how aluminum and plastic can affect your health. It’s nice to find some!

    Each Sunday we go for a hike, we started this before summer as a way to get healthy and to spent time as a family. We have really enjoyed ourselves greatly. We walk and talk, something that was lacking for a while before we started the ’sunday hike’. Anyway, I picked the 1 liter tree design because it reminds me of our hikes with the tree and it fading out..as the sun does at the end of our days.     I love the 13oz with the green leaves! Small enough to throw in a bag and refill to stay hydrated all around – grad school, fieldwork, volunteering, and at work! :)
