Bouncing BabyBjorn

Posted by Candace on Nov 24, 2008 | 239 Comments

BabyBjorn BabySitter BalanceWhen I am cooking or my preschooler needs me, I need a safe place for my infant  to relax–and we enjoy our BabyBjörn Babysitter Balance.

The best part of the BabyBjörn Babysitter Balance is that is a bouncy seat that actually bounces with your baby’s movement. With my first baby, I placed her in a different brand of bouncer seat, expecting her little infant wiggles and kicks would create a soothing movement, but nothing happened. By the time she was able to bounce it herself, she had outgrown the seat.

That is another great aspect of this seat–the Babysitter Balance grows with your child. There is a fully reclining position for sleeping infants, a raised position so babies can check out the action, and a seated position for older toddlers up to 29 pounds. You can adjust the seat without disturbing your baby.

This is not a seat with lots of bells and whistles, which I prefer because I mainly use the seat for convenience and safety, rather than entertainment; you can purchase a separate toy bar ($40) with spinning wooden shapes which babies really enjoy.

I always like to see other parents’ opinions of the gear I test and all you have to do is read the customer reviews at Target to see how much people appreciate this bouncer seat.

We love how the Babysitter Balance folds flat and has a small, narrow footprint, making it easy to take from room to room and fit through doorways.  The reversible cloth covering gives you a range of looks and visitors to my house have commented on how attractively the BabyBjorn Babysitter Balance compliments the decor.

I’m very impressed with how stylish form meets convenient function in the BabyBjörn Babysitter Balance, and Junior is impressed with how he can bouncy, bouncy…who’s a big boy? you are! yes you are! all by himself.

I tell ya, when I was registering before Little Man arrived, this is exactly what I was looking for. No batteries, just a bouncy seat. Only I couldn’t find anything like this then. Here’s hoping I get it for #2!

I’d use it when giving #1 some quality time, when cooking dinner, when we’re eating dinner, basically it’s a must-have!

When couldn’t you use it? It looks so easy to move around. I could bring it up and down the stairs… so I could put Ana in it while showering, while cooking dinner, while folding laundry. I could also sit Ana in it while I’m busy with Zoe (painting, doing playdough, cooking in her play kitchen). I love how portable it looks.

I have a family friend who is expecting a baby in April. Her other child is 4 so they probably do not have all of their things around from when he was a baby.
