Future Fashion Designers Show Style with Harumika

Harumika Fashion Design DollI’m not sure who loves the new Harumika Fashion Design mannequin more, me or my daughter.  Anyone who has an interest in fashion would have fun with this toy.  Harumika sets make a great present for a kid or a fun desktop creativity toy for an adult harboring a secret dream to become a fashion designer.

Although designed for ages 6 and up, my almost 3 year old daughter has been able to figure out how to style an outfit.  While it may not be ready-to-wear, I think her designs have a certain couture flair and plenty of charm.

You simply drape fabric around the mannequin and then press the excess into the rubber “style lock system” with the stylus.  You can add sticker accents. No sewing, cutting or gluing and you can create design after design.

Check out my daughter creating one of her designs:

Like many new products, Harumika has a social site where kids can upload and share photos of their designs.  Who knows?  The next great designer may say she got her start on Harumika.

Harumika encourages creativity and collaboration.  The possibilities are endless. Discuss your child’s design choices, see how small alterations change the design, create era-appropriate designs as a way to learn about history…fashion is fun and fabulous and can be a great way to get a child to open up.

Harumika fashion sets are addictive, which is fine because the Style Starter Set is just $11 and accent sets are $6, making it an affordable and creative gift or even a perfect activity for a birthday party.

If you have a kid who loves designing outfits or if you have ever watch project runway and thought, “I could do that, if only I could sew!” Harumika will fit just right.

Want It: Harumika sets start at $11. Visit Harumika for more information.

Win It: What’s your (or your child’s) design inspiration?  Let us know in a comment below by August 11, 11:59 PM EST and you’ll be entered to win a starter set. Winner chosen at random. US Shipping Only.

Hi my name is Aubrei and my inspiration to design is that some people don’t have enough money to actually be fashionable and affordable so I want to be a famous designer to make it easier for the less fortunate kids so that others don’t have a reason to make fun of them.

This commercial just came on and my daughter was going on and on about it….Decided to do a google blog search to see what other moms were saying and was so glad to come across a review from someone I “know” from Blogher (I met Debbie). Thanks for the review. Looks like I’ll be keeping my eye out for these so that I have them for reward times (or Christmas).
