When I was a little girl, I had long curly hair. Except most of the time instead of looking like Shirley Temple, I looked more like Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett. My mom would tame my mane with a leave-in conditioner, or “detangler”. Now, I have my own curly girly with beautiful ringlets that get knotty easily and I went looking at my favorite natural children’s lines for a decent detangler with no luck.
So, I was excited to hear from Sparklehearts–makers of very fun, very sparkly, natural hair care and beauty products and other “lotions and potions” for girls.
Although Sparklehearts is really targeting older kids, my preschooler daughter loves her “hair spray” because it makes combing her hair much more fun and it comes in a pretty, sparkly bottle so she knows it is just for her.
Sparklehearts is committed to a mostly organic, totally skinemies-free formulation–perfect for young eco-activists or moms concerned about icky additives.
I have to spray a bit on but it does make combing noticeably easier than just spraying on water and the herbal ingredients smell divine. And even using about a dozen spritzes almost every day, my bottle has lasted me a while. Once I comb through her hair, she looks (and smells) as if she were freshly bathed and professionally styled. Her curls are shiny, separated, and bouncy ringlets. Now if I can just find the mama version of this magical elixir we’ll be all set.
Bottom line? I will be buying some once this bottle is done.
