A Day at the Beach in a Tent for Ten (or more)

School may be starting up, soon, but summer still has some life left in it. We live near the beach and like to spend as much time outdoors in the nice weather as possible.

However, I worry about sun damage. I rub plenty of physical sunblock on my older two, dress them in UV-protectorant rash guards, and put on hats (which they inevitably remove) but I also don’t like them to be in direct sunlight for the entire outing–especially my newborn who is not supposed to use any sunscreen.

A great solution is a UV-protectorant tent like the Sun Smarties Pop-up Cabana and Beach Tent.

We have a growing family, so I was hoping the tent One Step Ahead sent would be as large as the tent in the photo on the website. And it is HUGE.

You can see that my taller-than average five year old is running around, tossing a ball with her three year old brother, inside the tent.  Earlier in the day, there were two other children in there with them and there was still room for the moms and the baby.

The dimensions are 10’L x 12’W x 6½’H, which means that most adults can stand comfortably in the center of the tent and you have 120 square feet of Cabana to enjoy.

It really is easy to open but it is not very intuitive, so make sure you read the instructions that are sewn into the bag (smart) or look at the product demo on the One Step Ahead website.

We love to use it at the beach  to keep out the bugs, the heat, and the sun. Kids can still dig away in the sand because there is no bottom to the tent.  At the beach, you can anchor the tent with sand pockets and the included stakes.

We have a smaller, pop-up tent the kids use inside the house but this one is roomier so adults can fit, as well, and the mesh sides allow for plenty of ventilation.

My kids beg  me to put the tent up even when we are just playing in the backyard and, because  it is so easy, I’m happy to set up their “super secret clubhouse” for them.

Even if you cannot afford a tropical getaway or a woodland adventure, you can add some flair to your staycation with the Sun Smarties Pop-up Cabana and Beach Tent.

Find the Sun Smarties Pop-up Cabana and Beach Tent (originally $120, on sale for $70) and more Baby Sun Protection Tips, exclusively at One Step Ahead.

  6. Thanks for your short article. I would also like to say that the health insurance agent also works best for the benefit of the particular coordinators of any group insurance. The health insurance agent is given an index of benefits needed by somebody or a group coordinator. Such a broker can is find individuals as well as coordinators which best fit those requirements. Then he offers his tips and if both parties agree, the broker formulates binding agreement between the 2 parties.
