The Philadelphia Museum of Art Presents: Art Splash! Great Summer Exhibitions, Festivals and Programs for the Whole Family!

Art Splash Logo With my kids home during the day and on the weekends during the summer, it’s hard for me to come up with fun activities and outings to keep them entertained while staying on budget. Parents, does this sound familiar?

This summer the Philadelphia Museum of Art is kicking-off Art Splash, a new series of exhibitions, festivals, and programs specifically created with families in mind. Exciting interactive play spaces, daily hands-on art activities, and special events will combine for an extraordinary summer arts experience for children and families.

Art Splash family programs feature a different theme each week and there are also three “Pay What You Wish” family festivals throughout the season starting with Splash into Summer with Artist Jerry PinkneyArt Splash Pinkney Banner this Sunday, July 7.

Pinkney is an award-winning children’s book illustrator who was born and raised in Philadelphia. Pinkney grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia and studied at the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts). He’s been the recipient of five Caldecott Honor Medals, five Coretta Scott King Book Awards, four Coretta Scott King Honor Awards, and a lifetime achievement award from the Society of Illustrators in New York.

Art Splash will present five enchanting exhibitions of illustration, fashion, photography and design, all created with families in mind. This series sounds so amazing and I am really going to try and get my boys to as many of these as I can. I want my boys to develop an appreciation for the arts early on and this series sounds like a great way to introduce them!

  1. I have been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting
article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me.
In my view, if all site owners and bloggers
made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.

Here is my blog post; baby showers (newsfree.com.br)
