LeapFrog Creativity Camera App with Protective Case and Learning to Write with Mr. Pencil Provide Hours of Learning and Fun!

*I was sent these products to review as part of a promotional program from LeapFrog and Mom Select. All opinions are my own.*

My oldest son is a big fan of his LeapFrog Reader, so when these two new products arrived on our doorstep, he didn’t know which one to tackle first! The Creativity Camera caught his attention first as he doesn’t really have any photography based toys.

Creativity CameraFirst, I have to say this was super easy to get set up and ready for him to run wild with. All you need to do is download the Creativity Learning App (which is free) on your iPhone or iPod Touch and put your device into the protective case (phew!) and you’re off and running. Your child can edit photos (think Photoshop for little ones), go on photo missions to create special albums and play an augmented reality game (put a game in front of my son and you won’t hear a peep out of him for hours).

My son especially loved taking the photos I had of his baby brother and making them super silly! Kids :)

Mr.Pencil The second surprise from LeapFrog was the Learning to Write with Mr. Pencil. My son is in kindergarten and can write his letters and numbers pretty well, but at that age, they can all use the extra practice (especially one disguised as interactive game with Mommy’s iPad!).

The Mr. Pencil app toy gives kids a fun, engaging way to interact with the world of Mr. Pencil and the citizens of Doodleberg as they learn writing and drawing skills. The Mr. Pencil stylus will not scratch your screen as it was designed to work with your iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch turning them into the ultimate learn-to-write tool.  Kids can use Mr. Pencil to unlock an adventure-filled app with more than 85 interactive activities (like helping Dot & Dash decorate and prepare 24 parade floats for Doodleburg’s Art Appreciation Day parade!) that help them practice writing letters and numbers along with drawing skills.

I will sometimes it’s hard getting my son to sit down and practice his letters and numbers, but with the help of Mr. Pencil, its much less of a struggle and his writing skills have improved!
