Staples and Real Simple Event to #StyleYourSpace

I was one of the lucky bloggers invited to the Staples and Real Simple #StyleYourSpace Event in NYC on Jan. 30. It was such a great, unique event focused on styling your work space and styling small spaces.

The event began with a delicious brunch with Real Simple Editor Stephanie Sisco in the gorgeous Gary’s Loft on 28 W 36th Street in the Big Apple (events in lofts in NYC are so chic and make you FEEL so chic and hipster. Truth.) The team from Staples and Real Simple revealed many different set ups for functional and organized work spaces that could work in both large and small spaces, perfect for all of us trying to get organized in 2014.

One of the highlights of the event was the beyond cool new shredder, the Staples Space Saver Shredder.  This is like the mother of all shredders and comes in a variety of colors. Shredders are something I never really saw as a design piece, but Staples showed us is that it can totally work as a design piece in your home office. Shredders are usually something you hide under a desk or next to a desk, but the Staples Space Saver Shredder is something you would actually want people to see (kind of like the Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand mixers we all have in our kitchens!). The Space Saver Shredder is just 8” wide, has a hassle-free paper feed and empties easily with a basin that catches shreds under the shredder.  Color me sold!

The team at Staples and Real Simple gave away some amazing prizes….and I WON! I never win anything so this was such a nice surprise. I took home my own Staples Space Saver Shredder which was quickly “stolen” by my Dad (he was THAT impressed with it!) and a new office desk and chair from the “Urban Vignette” set up.  Here are some pics of the desk and chair below:

I love this set and plan to use it as a work space for my son to do his homework at and can build on it as he grows. Thank you so much to Staples and Real Simple for the awesome event and the gorgeous prizes!!
