Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Wubble Ball. As always, opinions are my own. It is that time of year when it is starting to get a bit chilly outside. So, when you have two REALLY bored kids on your hands, what do you do? As parents, we look for things that are entertaining but […]
As we enter the throes of the holiday season, gifts are on our minds. Pets are #1 on many children’s holiday wish lists, so imagine if you could give them the gift of a pet, while saving a pet’s life? December 2nd is the fifth annual Celebrate Shelter Pets Day, a special day […]
(Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, and I received samples of many of the toys featured. I was a part of the team that helped ASTRA create Neighborhood Toy Store Day in 2010, and I have worked with them as a consultant since 2009. However, my opinions are not influenced by my work with ASTRA. […]
*This is a sponsored post. I received these items from PlanToys in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.* My boys got a little bit of an early Christmas present from one of our favorite toy brands, PlanToys! We received the Activity Clock and the Frog Life Puzzle which were both […]
As everyone is getting into the groove of the holiday hustle and bustle, I have been dreaming of something special under the tree from Santa! I am a bit of a jewelry nut, so when I first saw Joseph Nogucci’s Iris bracelets, I started salivating naturally. They are completely customizable and really let […]
I hope your holidays were filled with joy!
Imagine, for a minute, a child waking up on Christmas day and wondering if there will be any breakfast… already knowing there are no toys to unwrap.
That is a reality for too many in our communities this season.
Here’s a way that we were able to share joy with some other children this Christmas.
“Mommy, if Santa Claus brings presents to all the good boys and girls, why do we donate toys to the kids in the shelters?”
Whew. That’s a tough one.
We donate toys for these children because sometimes people do not let Santa know how little they have. We bring the toys because some children use their letters to Santa to ask for warm clothing and food. We give these gifts because even Santa does not work alone and he needs friends in every neighborhood to help him bring a little joy to every girl and boy…
This has been an exciting year and we hope you have enjoyed our posts. In 2010, we will continue to bring you reviews of cool baby gear, fashionable children’s clothing and accessories, educational toys, and other finds for mom, baby, and the whole family.
We also want to highlight more charitable efforts as part of the Bloganthropy project. Because looking at stuff is neat, winning stuff is fun, and giving stuff to people in need is truly fabulous.
I love so much about the holiday season: decorating the tree, baking cookies, singing carols, spending time with family…dressing my baby up in cheesy outfits. (That’s him in the Santa suit and me in the reindeer antlers!) But most of all…I love the way the holiday season inspires kindness from strangers and brings out the best in people. In the […]
We all have holiday traditions. For the second year in a row, Candace and I have been getting into the spirit of the season on Mamanista with our 12 Days of Giveaways. At home, we’ve both been counting down the days until Santa’s arrival with our The Story of Christmas Advent Calendars. This book and advent calendar combo features 24 miniature board […]
