Candace and I are both fans of Vincent, a hip and high-quality children’s shoe brand. (See previous reviews.) Vincent shoes are made to be roomy since most children’s feet are wide. As a result, I’ve found them easier to get on and off than other brands.

Candace and I have both received free shoe samples from Vincent in the past. But we’ve since become loyal customers. We keep a look out for sales and buy Vincent shoes because we like the style, durability and quality of the brand.

Natural Pod is one of my favorite boutiques for children’s toys.  All of the products are so lovely and I feel good knowing they are made from eco-friendly and child-safe materials, by fair-wage workers or independent craftsmen.
My preschooler checked out the Wooden Van (CAD $25; about US $19.50), a charmingly simple wooden toy automobile.  Sturdy, solid and easy to grasp, this van is a great choice for even younger babies. The big rubber wheels keep the van on a steady path as your child zooms it across the room.

I am guilty of avoiding this myself. I have the excuse that we’ve been in the middle of a move, but with a new house and a new year, it is time to find reliable child care so my husband and I can put on non-carrot stained clothes and enjoy a stolen hour or two reconnecting with the inner adult.
