Halloween is fast approaching–a fun celebration for kids and the young at heart. Over the next month, Mamanista will be featuring Halloween costumes, decorations, recipes, and more.

We’re kicking off our guide to Halloween with a ghostly giveaway: a $50 Gift Certificate from HalfPriceCostumes.com.

  2. Send Us A Phantasmal Photo: E-mail us a picture of your child, your pet, or yourself in your beastly Halloween best. Remember to give us a name, nickname, or caption if you want us to include one–it is up to you. Make sure your freakishly fabulous picture is appropriate for a family site and you must have permission to send us the photo from the subject or the subject’s guardian. By sending the photo you grant us the right to use it in a slideshow we will post on Mamanista! in October.

    Most of my costumes when I was little where the cheap plastic mask/vinyl smock or something from my own clothes.

    My favorite costume would have to be the Clone Trooper Child for my son, but my second favorite (well, maybe a tie!) would be the Princess Lea child costume. My son and daughter would make an adorable pair in those!

    I have five sons, so I mostly looked at kids costumes. I think they would love the NASA Astronaut costume, or the air force pilot costume. There are some good Star Wars Costumes as well.
