Halloween Treats

We’re hosting a Kooky Carnival of Haunted Halloween Remarkable Recipes for Terrifyingly Tasty Treats and Eerie Edibles!

We enjoy putting out a spooky spread on Halloween. Check out our witches’ fingers, monster toes, and Brains (made with this Jello Brain Mold) from years’ past. Now, we want you to share your favorite devilish delight.

The Prizes:

We are excited to be offering prizes in conjunction with the carnival. One prize will be awarded for the most creative recipe and another will be awarded at random. Winners will receive both:

Shrek Cookbook What's Cooking

A copy of the Shrek Cookbook. Review coming soon!

“While Shrek might prefer eating swamp weed and fly larvae (guacamole dip and hummus with pita bread), even his royal friends can find a tasty treat! Learn how to make Fiona’s feisty chili, Puss’s “purrfect” frittata, Fairy Godmother’s magical morning potions, and other mouthwatering meals, snacks, and delicious desserts!” Check out this recipe for mini-eyeball pizza and find out another way you can enter to win with Shrek.

I will happily ship the Shrek recipe book to anywhere in the US, Canada, or US Military addresses.

A six month subscription to What’s Cooking ($35 value). Review coming soon!

“What’s Cooking Weekly will save your sanity…and your time, by planning your meals and grocery lists every week. Imagine what it would be like to have the answer to the question, ‘What’s For Dinner?’”

Rules:

Contest will end October 22 and two winners will be chosen. One winner will be chosen based on the creativity of the recipe and another winner will be chosen at random.

  1. Write a post on your blog with your favorite Halloween recipe. We’d enjoy seeing a picture if you have one!
  2. Include a link back to this post, the Kooky Carnival, telling people that you are entering and encouraging them to share a recipe, too! Make sure to also link to What’s Cooking and mention the Shrek Cookbook. If you do not link back to this post and our prize sponsors, your link will not count for the contest.
  3. Sign Mr. Linky below using the post URL (not the general URL for your blog…don’t make people go on a wild ghost chase) and use the recipe title as your “name” (get creative–you want people to click)!
  4. Leave a comment just in case Mr. Linky is affected by the full moon.

Feel free to participate in the carnival whether or not you are interested in winning a prize–the more fun recipes, the better!

This contest requires that you post your recipe on a website, but feel free to start one up or post on a friend’s blog. Otherwise, check out our contest to win a Halloween Costume Gift Certificate (ends October 5) or be on the look out for our other contests that are open to others–we’ve got a bunch planned for this month.

Mr. Linky

Once you have your post (with the link) up, sign Mr. Linky with your Recipe Name and Post URL. Don’t forget to also leave us a comment! I’ll be posting a recipe of my own, but don’t worry…I’m not entering, just sharing…

I found a bunch of great recipes and nutritional info (because Halloween is, like, the least nutrition-friendly time of the year) here! http://www.nymetroparents.com/halloween.cfm
