Geopolitical Kid

geopuzzlePuzzles are great way for young children to learn everything from shapes to numbers to species of animals…and now geography!

GeoPuzzles makes jigsaw style puzzles with the pieces in the shapes of the countries or regions, enhancing the learning. With this innovation, your child can hold an Italy-shaped piece in his hand, instead of a randomly-shaped piece with a little Italy, some of Austria, and various other bits of Continental Grand Tour.

The brain child of a dad who wanted to teach his kids about geography, GeoPuzzles really engage kids in the fun of learning about the world.

And it is amazing how quickly children can learn through puzzles. One two year old even learned most of the nations of the world and their capitals by playing with GeoPuzzles! You have to see Aiden to believe his astounding geography skills.

GeoPuzzles are made from thick, quality cardboard to stand up to repeated play.

There are some nations that are too small to justify an entire piece, such as much of the Balkans on the Europe Map Puzzle I reviewed, and there are a few nations that have to be broken up into several pieces (Russia). Because of the country-shaped pieces, keeping sections in place as you work on the puzzle can present an extra challenge. So, preschoolers may need more assistance during assembly than they might with a similarly-sized, traditionally-shaped jigsaw.

This does not diminish the fun and high learning value of these great geography puzzles.  Hands-on manipulation of the puzzle pieces makes geography into a fun and memorable activity.

At our house, puzzles are a favorite toy and GeoPuzzles are definitely a hit. My daughter has fun discovering new concepts and enjoys the positive feedback when a piece “fits.” I’m really interested in checking out the new world animal puzzle, too. GeoPuzzles are a fantastic invention from a parent who understands how kids learn.

I didn’t know that kids in Vietnam go to school 6 days a week. The book “Children Just Like Me” includes a lot of great information about kids from all around the world like how many days they attend school, what their favorite foods are, what they play, where they live, etc. and I find that children are fascinated with learning more about how children their own age live around the world!

My Own Additional Fun fact: West Quoddy Head, Maine is the easternmost point on the U.S. mainland.

    Thanks for another great contest!
