Baby Slinger – Just Like Mama!

Watching your children play with dolls can be like looking through a mirror at your own parenting.  Not the part where they grab them by the ankle and drag them up the stairs, of course (thunk, thunk, thunk).  Rather, pay close attention to how they cuddle and care for their little pretend babies and you will get a heart-warming affirmation of your nurturing.

Children use dolls to role play and process their day.  And they mimic what you do with them and their siblings.

That’s why I love the Corolle Doll Sling.  My kids love to zoom their dolls around in strollers–anything with wheels is a huge hit.  However, our doll strollers got more use than our real stroller.  And my preschool-aged daughter wants to be able to carry her baby doll the same way I carry her baby brother–in a sling.  We made a DIY pouch sling out of one of her old t-shirts but it wasn’t really a “hands-free” carrier.  The Corolle Doll Sling is a front-pack carrier that enables my daughter to carry her baby doll everywhere.

If I were to do a design tweak, I would add a tie or buckle in back or have the straps criss-cross so they do not slide down on longer “baby doll wearing” walks (something you can easily do yourself by tying a ribbon in the back).

    My 5 year old granddaughter has a baby doll carriage that has been handed down through at least 3 cousins….she loves it and so we keep trying to clean it up so that it is presentable…I think she’d like the sling as a substitute.

    My daughter is 2 and a half and has been a doll lover since the beginning. She loves to wrap them in blankets (uses anything as a blanket) and loves to feed real babies and doll babies. She is very imaginative in her play- finding cone-shaped items and using them as “bottles” to feed the babies.
    We love the Feeding Bottle & Bib Set by Corolle because she feels like she is feeding a “real baby.”

    I cannot think of a better for this doll lover!
