Help Support First Book

We’ve enjoyed being a part of the Random House Read & Play Summer Fun Community and chatting with moms about their favorite books, how they encourage their children to read and the way they can use books to discuss difficult topics like bullying. We also talked about how much we treasure the time spent reading with our children– whether it’s snuggled up in bed, cuddling on the couch or sitting at the kitchen table.  Reading with our children sets them up for educational success, but moms treasure children’s books because they strengthen our bond with our children.

Since we treasure our childhood memories of reading favorite books with our parents, we want our children to have the same positive experience. Sadly though, many children do not own any books. First Book is an organization that donates books to children in need.  Please join in on the discussion about First Book here. Random House will donate a book to First Book for every comment made through August 28th.

And there’s also something in it for you: Random House is giving away an iPad 2, and today is the last day to enter. Click here to enter the iPad 2 giveaway. Be sure to follow the Random House Kids on Facebook and Twitter for more information.

  1. I leave a comment whenever I especially enjoy a post on a site or I have something to valuable to contribute to the conversation. It’s a result of the passion displayed in the article I browsed. And after this article Help First Book | Mamanista!. I was excited enough to drop a commenta response :-) I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it’s allright. Could it be simply me or does it look as if like some of the remarks appear as if they are left by brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are writing at other social sites, I’d like to keep up with everything fresh you have to post. Would you list all of all your communal sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?

I will also like to express that most people who find themselves without having health insurance can be students, self-employed and people who are not working. More than half from the uninsured are really under the age of Thirty-five. They do not experience they are in need of health insurance because they’re young and also healthy. The income is frequently spent on housing, food, and entertainment. Lots of people that do represent the working class either 100 % or part time are not presented insurance by way of their jobs so they go without because of the rising valuation on health insurance in the states. Thanks for the concepts you write about through this blog.

  5. In that sense, blogging can be seen as a form of social networking. Indeed, bloggers do not only produce content to post on their blogs but also build social relations with their readers and other bloggers.

  6. Although not a must, most good quality blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via GUI widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.
