Easter is early this year — the last time it occurred in March was in 2016 — and therefore may feel like it’s sneaking up on us rather quickly. If you’ve got outfits to purchase, eggs to dye or hide, baskets to fill, and food to plan and make you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed. Perhaps you haven’t even considered what you will fill your kids’ Easter baskets with yet and are just now realizing that Easter is less than three weeks away. Not to worry! Check out these unique Easter basket ideas for gifts that are sure to make an impression.
- DIY Bubble Bath – Kids love bubbles, but moms don’t always love the ingredients in store-bought bubble bath. Fear not! Here are several recipes for bubble bath you can make yourself with clean ingredients.
- Garden Tools – Some gardening gloves (the Dollar Tree carries these!) and a cute garden tool set are great Easter basket fillers, as springtime will be newly here and planting (depending on your growing zone) is JUST around the corner!
- Crayon Names – Crayons, markers, pencils, stickers, and a new notepad can keep my 6 year old daughter busy for hours. These DIY crayon letters make a cute, personalized basket filler!
- Something Sensory – Most kids love play dough, kinetic sand, slime, and anything else they can squish and mold with their hands. Check out these recipes for DIY kinetic sand and homemade play dough.
- Play Silks – We love these play silks from Sarah’s Silks and have used them for so many things! They carry some really cute silk dress up items, as well.
- Outdoor Toys – I always love including sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and a new jump rope or pair of sunglasses. A couple of years ago I got a kite from the Dollar Tree that flew surprisingly very well. A new swimsuit or rain boots could be an option, too – anything your kiddos may need to gear up for a great spring and summer spent outdoors!
What fun or unique items will you put in your kids’ Easter baskets this year? We’d love to hear your ideas!
